North Devon Estate Agents Geoffrey Clapp Associates are delighted to report that as of 21st May 2010 Home Information Packs have been suspended.

Homes marketed for sale on or after 21st May 2010 will no longer require a HIP.

The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) will be retained.

Sellers will still be required to commission an EPC but this will not need to be received before marketing the property.

As estate agents in North Devon we have found that the scrapping of Stamp duty for first-time buyers purchasing homes costing up to £250,000, has had little impact on property in North Devon.  First-time buyers looking for property for sale are a vital part of the property chain and they are still suffering from restrictive lending.
